It has taken Peter Sjöstrand eight years to bring a fan-made Mega Man game to life. And we are pleased to report that this Mega Man game is called Mega Man 2.5D.
Mega Man 2.5D is a purely a fan-made version of Mega Man, featuring the main 2.5 visuals with a camera that changes perspectives. Peter has developed the game with XNA 4 and BEPU as a physics engine for the base of the game, and used Autodesk Maya for modeling and texturing the levels and assets for the game.
Mega Man 2.5D is slightly different from most other Mega Man games. The first is the local co-op mode, where you can grab a friend and team up to take on Dr. Wily. The other is the use of camera perspective changes which is featured a lot in the single-player mode of the game.
We don’t know whether Capcom will try to take it down, so we strongly suggest downloading it while you still can.
Those interested can download Mega Man 2.5D from its official website.
